Contest - #MINSK2019: My Greetings to 2nd European Games

Radio Belarus International of Belteleradiocompany together with the Foundation "Directorate of the 2nd European Games 2019" summed up the results of "My Greetings to the 2nd European Games!" selfie contest, which lasted for a month on Radio's website.

Website visitors could vote for the best pictures. The editors received more than 32,000 votes.

According to the results of voting, Dietmar Wolf from Germany took the 1st place, and will receive the contest certificate, tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, as well as a set of Belarusian national team sports equipment and promotional products with the logo of Radio Belarus.

Alena Marchenko from Russia earned the 2nd place, Ivan Liplianski from Belarus came 3rd. They are also expected to receive certificates, tickets for European Games events, and a set of sports equipment and promotional products each.

At the same time, taking into account the huge interest in the contest and receipt of a large number of photographs, the organizers decided to award the authors of the most popular selfies with branded merchandize. Among the top ten are participants from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Germany, China, and India (see the table above).

In addition, on the Award Day, which is scheduled for May, representatives of the Directorate of the 2nd European Games 2019 will also mark the best selfie author with the hashtag #minsk2019, which was posted on social networks, but was not presented at the contest. The selection of the best photo continues.

In total, about 170 photos from 26 countries were received: Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Vietnam, Germany, Egypt, India, Italy, Yemen, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Lithuania , Morocco, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Ukraine, Philippines, Finland.

“The contest helped to achieve the main goal of Radio Belarus - to talk about our Land Beneath The White Wings. And the participants, who sent selfies from various countries, not only present themselves, but also learn about the 2nd European Games, get acquainted with our homeland and its capital,” emphasized Naum Galperovich, Director of Radio Belarus International after summarizing the competition.

We remind you that anyone had a chance to participate in the contest "My Greetings to the 2nd European Games!" selfie contest, and could join the sports movement by taking a picture during sportsplay or against the background of sports facilities, placing the hashtag #minsk2019 however one chooses, and sending photos to the organizers.

Lieber Dietmar,

das stimmt, für alle finden wir im Hörerklub eine Aufgabe!:)
Liebe Grüße und einen guten Start in die Woche!

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English. We hear nothing about Belarus here in the US so I am so glad to learn about your country. Keep on broadcasting in English. I also joined the Hoererklub on Facebook as I can understand German. If you have information or a station pennant, I will very much appreciate it.
