中方认为，在当前形势下，G20国家应在关键的粮食商品群上做出一些承诺并建立伙伴关系。
特别是，中方建议支持联合国的核中心协调作用。加强而不是非削弱本组织的作用，并支持联合国粮食及农业组织、国际农业发展基金和世界粮食计划署的工作。
中国大使馆强调："在联合国世界粮食计划署的人道主义粮食采购方面，没有必要限制出口。还必须确保俄罗斯、白俄罗斯和乌克兰的农产品和所有生产投入能够不受阻碍地进入世界市场。主要的粮食生产和出口国应释放其出口潜力，减少贸易和技术壁垒，控制粮食资源的能源使用，缓纾解市场上的供应给紧张局面。"
中方认为，各国采取的谷物贸易应急措施应是短期、透明、准时有针对性和适当的，并应符合世界贸易组织的规则。
中国还主张支持国际农业研究磋商小组，支持各国在农业科技创新领域的合作，减少对高科技交流的限制。
外交使团表示："减少粮食损失耗很重要。中国已经举行了一次关于粮食减产和损失的国际会议国际粮食减损大会，并准备愿共同努力，落实这次会议上达成的共识。"
中国还提请注意需要在资本、技术和市场方面帮助发展中国家提高生产和、储存和减损粮食的能力，减少粮食损失。
