Serbia es un socio seguro de Belarús mientras que el país belaruso da mucha importancia al desarrollo de las relaciones belaruso-serbias. Lo declaró el 19 de febrero el viceministro de Asuntos Exteriores, Oleg Krávchenko, en el marco de un acto con motivo del Día del Estado Nacional de Serbia, anuncia la corresponsal de BelTA. Acorde con las palabras del vicecanciller, dicha fiesta nacional simboliza no sólo la aspiración eterna de los serbios hacia la independencia, también la hermandad de todos los pueblos eslavos que a lo largo de los siglos XIX-XX estuvieron obligados a conquistar y proteger a su Patria en unas condiciones duras. “Un rico pasado histórico que incluyó páginas tanto de paz como de guerras y revueltas nos permite afirmar hoy que nuestra gente es laboriosa, digna, resistente ante las amenaza, que ama a su Patria. Dichos rasgos de carácter se manifestaron mucho durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial cuando los belarusos y los serbios lucharon con coraje contra el nazismo. Respetamos la memoria de los belarusos participantes del movimiento guerrillero en el territorio de Yugoslavia. Recordamos bien los nombres de unos 200 ciudadanos de la antigua Yugoslavia que combatían con heroísmo contra el enemigo común en los destacamentos de partisanos en el Polesie belaruso y la localidad de Vítebsk”, enfatizó Oleg Krávchenko. Señaló que el carácter amistoso de las relaciones belaruso-serbias se confirma durante las entrevistas en el nivel alto y más alto. Asimismo habló de la importancia de las futuras visitas a Serbia en en año en curso. El diplomático abordó el tema de la interacción multilateral mencionando que los países habían trabajado juntos para la formación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), habían colaborado de manera estrecha para alcanzarlos. Serbia es un gran socio comercial de Belarús en los Balcanes y el único país al oeste de las fronteras de Belarús con el convenio sobre el comercio libre y el régimen sin visado vigentes. “Los resultados de la sesión reciente de la comisión económico-comercial intergubernamental certifican el gran potencial sin uso en las relaciones económicas. Nuestra meta actual es encontrar unas oportunidades adicionales y crear unas condiciones más favorables para la materialización exitosa de dicho potencial”, hizo hincapié el diplomático. El Embajador Extraordinario y Plenipotenciario de Serbia en Belarús, Veljko Kovacevic, a su vez habló de la importancia que tiene el Día del Estado Nacional de Serbia para el pueblo serbio, de aquel camino difícil que había recorrido el país hacia la independencia. El líder de la misión diplomática subrayó el gran significado del desarrollo de la interacción multilateral belaruso-serbia.
