白俄罗斯突出的地势景色特点有3个：
1.白俄罗斯北部多湖泊，称为湖泊区。
2.无湖坡多丘陵地带。
3.河谷沼泽地带-波列斯区。
白俄罗斯景色与地势特点的形成与冰川密不可分，冰川流经之处多留下山岩与山脊，形成丘陵与盆地，其中盆地又进而形成湖泊。白俄罗斯的最高点为明斯克州的德谢尔山（海平面上345米高），最低点为涅曼河谷（海平面下85米深）。毫不夸张的说，白俄罗斯的土地上到处淌着水，泉水、湖泊、沼泽、河湾、小溪、河流及人造海域，共同形成了白俄罗斯特有的水系风景。
白俄罗斯植被丰富多样，包括草地植物、沼泽植物、田野植物、水生植物以及森林植物。在国家东部及北部有些地区植被覆盖率超过一半。白俄罗斯以针叶林为主，其中最常见的为松树。针叶林覆盖率为全国领土的70%，几乎随处可见。通常针叶类植物与阔叶类植物混合生长。
橡树林高大而美丽，主要生长在国家南部。白俄罗斯动物种类数量繁多，但绝对数量十分稀少，很多种类濒临灭绝。其中一些为十分古老的品种。鹳与野牛被认为是白俄罗斯的象征动物。
为保存物种多样性，国家设立了许多自然保护区。其中有20个保护区具有重要的国际意义。其中包括：别洛维日大森林国家公园——已列入联合国教科文组织全球项目；3个生物自然保护区——已被划入欧洲生物自然保护网络；16个水沼区域，已被列入拉姆公约名单，具有重要的国际意义。
