В данную подборку вошли книги известных белорусских государственных деятелей, ученых и исследователей. Генеральный секретарь ШОС Алимов Р.К. поблагодарил Посла и в его лице главу МИД Республики Беларусь Макея В.В. за ценный дар Штаб-квартире ШОС. Он отметил, что в январе 2016 года в Секретариате ШОС в Пекине началось формирование библиотеки Организации. За шесть месяцев в ее фонд поступило более 600 экземпляров книг, которые призваны стать фундаментальной базой для исследований проблематики ШОС, Евразийского региона, ученых, политологов, специалистов в области изучения Центральной Азии и вопросов регионального развития.
Подборка белорусских книг повествует об этапах становления и развития молодого белорусского государства, успехах и достижениях в ее новейшей истории. Р.К. Алимов отдельно выделил издание «Государственность — национальная идея Беларуси», в котором читатель может найти ответы на многие вопросы, касающиеся опыта государственного строительства, специфики происходящих в стране социально-политических и экономических процессов и перспектив развития молодой республики. В этом же ряду можно выделить книги «Беларусь — через столетия в будущее», «Сокровища Беларуси», а также «Минск: путешествие во времени», рассказывающие о неповторимых образах и традициях Беларуси и ее энергично развивающейся столице — Минске.
Генеральный секретарь ШОС обратил внимание на то, что Беларусь стала первой страной-наблюдателем, которая внесла свой вклад в пополнение библиотеки ШОС.
В свою очередь Посол Беларуси в КНР Буря В.П. отметил, что наличие книг о Беларуси в фондах библиотеки Секретариата Шанхайской организации сотрудничества позволит интересующимся читателям лучше узнать историю и культуру Беларуси, передаваемые из поколения в поколение традиции, которые являются духовной основой нашего современного общества.
Ряд изданий имеют высококачественные иллюстрации, позволяющие получить представление о земле белорусской не только в современности, но и на протяжении различных эпох.
Посол подчеркнул, что в истории взаимодействия Беларуси с ШОС уже немало важных визитов (Беларусь посещали Генеральные секретари ШОС Имоналиев М.С. для подписания Меморандума о статусе партнера по диалогу, Мезенцев Д.Ф. во главе Миссии наблюдателей от ШОС), и выразил надежду на то, что взаимные контакты будут и далее расширяться, и этому будут способствовать в том числе и знания, полученные при знакомстве с этими книгами.
На церемонии передачи книг присутствовали постоянные представители стран-членов ШОС при Секретариате Организации и дипломаты посольств, аккредитованных в Пекине.
