Belarus is interested in attracting direct investments from China and is ready to create comfortable conditions for this. This was announced by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Pin, BelTA reports.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Belarusian side pays much attention to the implementation of President Xi Jinping's concept "One Belt and One Way". "We have a big project of the China-Belarus Industrial Park under the name of Great Stone. "Our expectations for this project are very large, and we look forward to more active investment activities of Chinese companies. At this stage, our cooperation in the field of investment is mainly represented by Chinese tied loans. It is, of course, a good aid in the development of the economy of our state, but we would be interested in attracting direct Chinese investments and are ready to create comfortable conditions for the Chinese business in Belarus," the Chairman of the Council of the Republic stressed. In this connection, he noted that a number of documents were signed, including laws and decrees bythe President.
In addition, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic noted that in the near future there will be an opportunity to discuss with the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC the issues of technical assistance for the building of two Olympic venues by the Chinese side in Belarus, a stadium and a swimming pool. "The agreements of the heads of state on this are in place, it is necessary to work out the details. In the coming week, your specialists will come to Belarus to look at the proposed sites, discuss the details of the relevant agreement," Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The Belarusian side is pleased with the intensive development of the economy, culture, social projects in China. "China is demonstrating to the whole world great progress in its development, this is not the limit, you have very good prospects. China is confidently moving towards its goal, and I think that your country will become the leading economy of the world in the very near future," he suggested.
In his turn, Zhang Ping thanked Mikhail Myasnikovich for the contribution he made during the years of work to the sustainable development of China-Belarus contacts. "We appreciate your work," he stressed.
