Following the talks in Beijing Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping adopted a joint statement on the main principles of developing exemplary relations of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China in a new epoch, BelTA has learned.
The leaders of the two countries met both one-one-one and with the participation of their delegations and talked much longer than planned, clearly demonstrating a mutual interest in the issues on the agenda and a focus on results.
A big package of documents on cooperation in various areas was signed as part of the two heads of state's meeting.
A memorandum of understanding was concluded between the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China International Development Cooperation Agency to strengthen cooperation for development and promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
A plan for the Year of Regions of Belarus and China for 2023 was approved.
Belarus and China also signed a program on scientific and technical cooperation for 2023-2024.
An agreement and a memorandum on cooperation in tourism and sports were signed between the relevant agencies of Belarus and China.
The State Control Committee of Belarus and the National Audit Office of the People’s Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Belarusian Construction and Architecture Ministry and the Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.
Agreements on cooperation were signed between the Belarusian and Chinese news agencies BelTA and Xinhua, and also between the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus and the China Media Group.
A memorandum of understanding on the implementation of cooperation projects using preferential loans from the Chinese government was signed at the presence of the heads of state.
Another memorandum of understanding records the substantial completion of negotiations on the draft agreement on trade in services and investment.
The Economy Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Commerce of China concluded an agreement to deepen trade and economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
An intergovernmental agreement was signed in the form of an exchange of letters to approve a project to supply two sets of screening equipment for National Airport Minsk.
A comprehensive strategy for joint industrial development was approved for the implementation by the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The two countries also signed a protocol on sanitary and phytosanitary requirements for supplies of products from Belarus to China.
A memorandum of understanding was signed on cooperation in agriculture.
The countries also signed a plan for the development of cooperation in healthcare for 2023-2025.
A large number of documents signed as part of Aleksandr Lukashenko’s state visit to China concern interregional cooperation, finance, banking, trade information support, and the Red Cross activities.
