Belarus, Russia’s Primorye Territory strengthen agro-industrial cooperation

Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko met with Governor of Russia’s Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako on 3 June to discuss developing and promising areas of cooperation, BelTA has learned.

Yuri Shuleiko expressed gratitude to Oleg Kozhemyako for the fact that the governor always finds time to visit Belarus and take part in important events. This time, the governor arrived to attend the Belarusian agro-industrial week and the 35th international specialized exhibition Belagro 2025, taking place at the Minsk International Exhibition Center on 3-7 June.

The vice premier emphasized that Belarus and Primorye Territory have built strong and trusting relations over many years, thanks to efforts of regional leadership. "We would like to boost trade and cooperate on mutually beneficial projects and directions. During your visit, we will discuss many topics," he said addressing the Russian governor.

Discussing the delegation’s participation in the Belarusian agro-industrial week, Yuri Shuleiko emphasized that this year offers a unique opportunity for representatives of Primorye Territory, as the event is being held in the new BelExpo exhibition complex. The agro-industrial cooperation between Belarus and Primorye Territory is gaining momentum, and the range of supplied products is expanding, the deputy prime minister said. "I am convinced that your delegation’s participation in Belagro will lead to new contracts for food products, amino acids, and other items in demand in the region. We also look forward to continuing cooperation in selection and land reclamation," Yuri Shuleiko stated. He added that joint efforts will enable the parties to complete the agricultural and grain elevator complex project in Primorye Territory by the end of 2025.

Cooperation between Belarus and Primorye Territory continues to progress in many areas, including expansion of service maintenance and purchase of Belarusian machinery. During a previous visit, the parties signed a roadmap for cooperation on the supply of Belarusian passenger and utility equipment for 2025-2027. "It is an ambitious yet realistic document. A large batch of Belarusian machinery is scheduled for purchase and delivery this year. We expect that, through joint efforts, this agreement will be fully implemented on time," Yuri Shuleiko noted.

Soon, a center for demonstration, sales, and maintenance of Belarusian machines will be launched in Mikhailovka village. The vice premier emphasized that Belarus supports the initiative to establish another similar center in Primorye Territory.

MAZ dealer "Far Eastern Auto Center" is finalizing the expansion of the MAZ service and sales facility in Vladivostok. "These projects will significantly strengthen Primorye’s status as a hub for various types of machinery," Yuri Shuleiko pointed out.

A relatively new but promising direction of Belarus-Primorye Territory cooperation is the export of construction materials and the design of infrastructure projects by Belarusian organizations. "We support this area of partnership and look forward to its further development," the deputy prime minister said.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s visit will give fresh impetus for strengthening trade, economic, and humanitarian ties between Belarus and Primorye Territory.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English. We hear nothing about Belarus here in the US so I am so glad to learn about your country. Keep on broadcasting in English. I also joined the Hoererklub on Facebook as I can understand German. If you have information or a station pennant, I will very much appreciate it.
