CIS countries discuss cooperation in industrial safety

The 22nd meeting of the CIS Interstate Council on Industrial Safety was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 17-18 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

 
Taking part in the meeting were representatives of state supervisory bodies in industrial safety of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the UN Economic Commission for Europe. Representatives of Turkmenistan and China attended the event as observers.
 
The CIS Executive Committee was represented at the meeting by Valery Troshko, Advisor to the Department for Security Cooperation. Addressing the members of the council, he said that today the CIS has a clear and balanced program of joint priority and prospective actions aimed at ensuring national, regional security and sustainable social and economic development of the member states.
 
“The experience of your cooperation as part of the council's activities is largely aimed at achieving these goals and contributes to the solution of tasks to prevent industrial accidents, protect the economies of our states and ensure common stability in the CIS. This area of activity requires not only increased attention, but also an active search for new forms of cooperation, which is facilitated by your annual meetings, exchange of experience and opinions,” Valery Troshko said.
 
In his opinion, he states that are members of the council carry out reindustrialization and modernization of production facilities, introduce modern technologies, high-performance and reliable machinery and equipment that provide not only high efficiency and profitability, but also lead to the improvement of industrial safety in areas where there are hazardous production facilities.
 
The results of inspections conducted in recent years show a clear, multiple reduction in violations of rules and norms of technical safety of enterprises of all forms of ownership and, accordingly, an increased responsibility of managers and owners of organizations.
 
Valery Troshko emphasized that the decisions made during the council meeting would contribute to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in industrial safety and would contribute to further deepening of effective partnerships.
 
The participants of the meeting took stock of the work conducted in 2023-2024, reviewed the progress of the plan of main activities to implement the agreement on cooperation in industrial safety at hazardous production facilities for 2021-2026.
 
In accordance with the agenda, the delegates exchanged information on changes in national legislation in industrial safety regulation at hazardous production facilities and activities in this area during the year, considered issues related to the updating of the legal framework in industrial safety in connection with the digitalization of mining facilities, and also bilateral and international cooperation.
 
The participants of the meeting visited Tajikistan’s largest power plant - Nurek HPP to exchange experience in control and supervisory activities.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
