Belarus is working on expanding exports to Oman, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Aleksei Bogdanov is on a working visit to Oman. The minister supervises cooperation with this region.
During the visit, he met with Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman Qais Al-Yousef to discuss bilateral relations in trade, economic, and investment cooperation, expansion of interaction in science and technology, education and other areas. The parties also emphasized the importance of establishing a Belarusian-Omani intergovernmental committee. “The countries enjoy a high level of mutual trust and understanding. At the same time, there is still a huge untapped potential in mutual trade. Today we are focusing on the activation of Belarusian-Omani cooperation in the whole range of areas,” Aleksei Bogdanov said. During the meeting, the minister got familiar with the activities of Invest Oman.
The Belarusian delegation visited the Sohar Port and Freezone, got familiar with the activities of the mining company Al-Tamman and Sanvira and the oil and gas company QQ. The minister held a meeting with Governor of North Al Batinah Mohammed al Kindi and the management of the Sohar Port and Freezone. The parties discussed the current state of trade and economic cooperation, possible ways and areas for its expansion, and emphasized the prospect of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector.
“Mutual supplies of goods are the primary points of growth of cooperation between our countries. We are ready not only to increase exports but also to work out the issue of establishing joint production enterprises in Oman,” Aleksei Bogdanov emphasized.
The Belarusian delegation also held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of Omani ministries and agencies: the deputy chairperson of the Council of State, the executive vice president of the Financial Stability Sector of the Central Bank, the minister of agriculture, fisheries, and water resources, the deputy minister of transport, communications, and information technology, and the chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The parties discussed the current stage of development of bilateral interaction in the relevant areas, possibilities of its expansion, as well as promising areas of cooperation.
“The visit of the representatives of Belarus to Oman helped us coordinate mutual steps to develop comprehensive cooperation. We discussed fundamental issues of the bilateral agenda, reached a number of agreements, identified points of growth and outlined steps that will contribute to the strengthening of partnership between our countries,” Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Aleksei Bogdanov said at the opening of the Belarusian-Omani Business Forum in Muscat.
The forum featured presentations, B2B negotiations between Belarusian and Omani business circles, and the signing of a number of bilateral documents. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Hi- Tech Park of Belarus and the Oman National Engineering and Investment Company. An intention to cooperate was outlined by the Minsk Dairy Plant and the Omani Dairy Plant. A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the National Center for Marketing and Price Study of Belarus and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
