Arina Pehtereva from Mogilev will represent Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

This information was posted in the Telegram channel of the ATN news agency, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian State Television and Radio Company decided to select Belarus’ participant for the contest internally. Otherwise it would be impossible to meet the social distancing requirement. After processing all the applications, the company chose Arina Pehtereva’s entry Aliens for the contest.

“The song was written back in the spring, when the coronavirus epidemic broke out in the world. The idea behind the song is simple: the world has stopped, the borders have closed, people can no longer communicate, visit each other, even the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year has changed. However, I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is up to us, children, to save this world and make it better!” Arina Pehtereva said.

The singer was born in Mogilev on 14 March 2008. She started taking singing classes at 6 and got enrolled at a music school at 8 majoring in piano. Arina is fond of drawing, painting and photography. She writes poems and tries her hand at writing music. She is a two-time laureate of Belarus President's special fund to support talented youth.

As the world continues to adjust to life during the coronavirus pandemic, the EBU announced that Junior Eurovision 2020 will be hosted from Warsaw, but all artists will perform remotely from a studio in their own country.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will take place on 29 November. The event will be broadcast live by the Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.

Höre gerade den tollen Song 10:45 min ( Hörerbriefkasten) Was ist das für ein traditionelles Instrument im Soloteil, klingt etwas wie ein Dudelsack, aber der ist ja in Schottland:-)

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)

Вельмi падабаюцца перадачы на замежных мовах, якiя даюць магчымасць не толькi даведацца, што адбываецца ў Беларусi i за яе межамi, але ж i ўдасканалiць веды ангельскай, нямецкай, французскай моваў, праслухаўшы перадачы. Хацелася б даведацца, цi плануе радыёстанцыя вяшчанне на FM у Мiнску, бо ў заходнiх рэгiёнах Беларусi радыёстанцыя на FM працуе. У шматнацыянальным Мiнску жыве шмат замежных грамадзян, таксама прыязджаюць турысты, якiя б маглi даведацца пра тое, што аббываецца ў краiне i за яе межамi праз радыё Беларусь. На сёння ў Мiнску няма нiводнай англамоўнай цi iншамоўнай радыёстанцыi. З павагай, ваш слухач Сяргей.
