Belarus wants to partake in Iraq rebuilding

         Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkey and Iraq (on concurrent) Andrei Savinykh and Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari have met in Baghdad to discuss how Belarusian companies can help Iraq restore its economy, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports. Andrei Savinykh and Hoshyar Zebari discussed the state and prospects of Belarus-Iraqi cooperation and ways to intensify bilateral contacts in the areas of the mutual interest. Andrei Savinykh said that Belarus would like to ramp up bilateral contacts and suggested implementing a number of projects in order to maintain a constant dialogue and step up the information exchange between government agencies of the two countries. The Belarusian Ambassador’s working trip includes a meeting with Vice President of Iraq Khodair al-Khozaei, high-ranking officials from the ministries of industry and minerals, trade, agriculture, electric energy, construction and housing and utilities, water resources. Andrei Savinykh is also set to meet with top executives of a number of state-run corporations, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Iraq and diplomats.
