About RUB1 million will be allocated from the Union State budget this year to prepare the Belarus-Russia Festival of Local Television, BelTA quoted Nina Poznyak, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Editor-in-Chief of the Lida Television and Radio Association.
The festival will be held in Lida in 2015. The Union State will finance the preparations for the festival in 2014 and 2015. It is expected that the forum will gather at least 100-150 participants from the two countries. There are plans to invite famous TV personalities for the festival. The festival has its working title “We are Together” and will be held in an open format. In the future the festival will be held annually by different regional television companies of Russia and Belarus. The program of the festival will feature a competition in 10 nominations, educational events, master classes, trainings, and excursions. The panel of judges will comprise well-known TV hosts and journalists. “We hope that our initiative, the Union State television festival, will promote closer partnership and professional contacts between regional television companies of Russia and Belarus,” Nina Poznyak said.
