Russia invites Belarus to build infrastructure at Vostochnyi cosmodrome

         Russia’s Federal Agency of Special Construction invited Belarus to take part in the construction of a number of facilities at the Russian cosmodrome Vostochnyi, the Belarusian embassy in Russia reported following the visit to Amur region of a Belarusian delegation led by Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats. During the visit members of the delegation visited the cosmodrome which is curerently under construction. Deputy Chairman of the Amur Oblast Government Konstantin Chmarov updated the guests on the progress in the construction of the infrastructure and the launch site. The officials met with heads of contracting organizations to discuss a number of matters relating to cooperation in the construction of key facilities. Konstantin Chmarov noted Russia’s considerable interest in getting Belarusian construction companies involved in building the cosmodrome.
     For his part, Leonid Zayats noted that all the suggestions of the Russian side would be reviewed as soon as possible by Belarusian organizations concerned.
