Famous Belarusian poet and translator Ryhor Baradulin died at the age of 79 after a long serious illness.


        He was the last Belarusian to have been awarded the title of a national poet. Ryhor Baradulin’s works were first published in 1953, he is author of dozens of books of poetry; in addition to his produced a large number of poetic translations of world’s best poets into the Belarusian language.
Ryhor Baradulin was the Honorary Doctor of the Belarusian State University and an honorary citizen of Usha district.
