Stadler Rail Group promised all possible assistance for joint venture in Belarus

          Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with Swiss company Stadler Rail Group’s Director General Peter Spuhler in Minsk. All the possible assistance will be provided to the Swiss company for the sake of further implementation of the joint venture in Belarus, the President said. The head of state remarked that the operation of the Swiss company in Belarus is often referred to as an example for other foreign investors to follow. “We refer to you as an example of what kind of investors we are interested in welcoming in Belarus,” he said. Earlier, Peter Spuhler told media that the Fanipol-based Swiss-Belarusian factory designed to make electric transport will start working as early as late March 2014.
The first order the new factory will execute will be the production of double-deck trains for the Russian transport service provider Aeroexpress. Stadler Rail AG has won an international tender in Moscow and is supposed to supply the customer with 25 passenger trains by 2016. The trains will be manufactured by the Belarusian factory starting with the fourth train.
