Belarus and Moscow intend to develop economic cooperation, including by increasing mutual trade. The matter was discussed at the meeting of Belarus’ Vice Premier Anatoly Kalinin with a delegation from Moscow. Trade exceeded $5 billion last year, up 5% from the 2012 level. “It is important that we keep this momentum in trade and economic cooperation, give all-round support to a positive dynamism in mutual trade,” the Vice Premier underlined. Russia, and Moscow in particular, is Belarus’ strategic partner, which is why the country pays such close attention to exports to this region, both foodstuffs and other consumer goods, he added.
The Vice Premier touched upon a project for the Belarusian side to construct a Belarusian quarter near Moscow. “We are working in this area and would like to propose a modern city planning design which would meet the requirements in terms of price, quality and speed,” Anatoly Kalinin said.
