Belarusian PM meets with Kyrgyzstan president

Heads of government from the EAEU member states, including Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, have met with President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, BelTA has learned.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session hosted by Cholpon-Ata on 6-7 August.

Bilateral relations between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are developing successfully across all fronts, with two-way trade on the rise. Both parties are committed to further deepening their cooperation.

The two countries have mapped out a strategy for interregional cooperation, which is expected to make a significant contribution to the overall bilateral relationship. The first Belarus–Kyrgyzstan Forum of Regions will be held in Minsk this autumn.

Belarus pays special attention to deepening integration ties within the Eurasian Economic Union. From the very early days of the EAEU, Belarus has viewed this format as one of the key drivers of economic growth in the region.

Belarus also plans to take part in the 6th World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan from 31 August to 6 September.
