Brest Oblast grain at 1m tonnes, excluding rapeseed

As of the morning of 3 August, Brest Oblast had threshed 1.013 million 13 tonnes of grain, not including rapeseed, Anatoly Shchuplenkov, Chairman of the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, told BelTA.

“The average yield stands at 40.6 centners per hectare. Across the region, we have harvested 73% of the area. That stands for 250,800 hectares,” Anatoly Shchuplenkov said. Stolin District and Pruzhany District have each surpassed the 100,000-tonne mark in grain harvest.

Stolin District has emerged as the leader in yield during this year’s harvest campaign, with an average of 53 centners per hectare. Notably, farmers in this Polesie region are already wrapping up their harvest, with only 7% of the area left to be cut. Kamenets District is also on the home stretch, having completed 91% of its harvest.

“Brest Oblast has proactively finished the harvest of winter rapeseed at 98.8%, with 234,000 tonnes threshed, with an average yield of 32.5 centners per hectare. Flax pulling has been completed, and work is underway to prepare the soil for winter rapeseed planting,” Anatoly Shchuplenkov added.
