Minsk among the three CIS cities most frequently visited by Russians

Minsk was among the CIS three cities visited most frequently by Russians in 2013. The other CIS most visited cities were Kyiv and Odessa. They were followed by Chisinau, Almaty, Baku, Lviv, Astana, Yerevan and Tashkent. 

The Oktogo.ru ranking is based on the number of hotel rooms booked by Russians in the CIS member states in 2013. The number of tours to the CIS cities booked by Russians online rose two times compared to 2012. 

In 2013 Russian travelers stayed in Minsk for three days on the average. The most popular tourist attractions were the Holy Spirit Cathedral on Freedom Square, the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, the Victory Monument on Victory Square and the Trinity Hill.
