Swiss-Belarusian train factory in Fanipol coming online

        The first startup complex of the Belarusian-Swiss factory built in the town of Fanipol to make electric transport will be commissioned by the end of 2013. Its construction began in March. The first phase of the factory construction project is supposed to be completed in May 2014. The investment project to start manufacturing passenger electric transport for railroads and urban mass transit systems is being implemented by the managing company of the holding company Belkommunmash and the Swiss company Stadler Rail AG.
A joint venture OAO Stadler Minsk has been set up to implement the project, with Stadler Rail AG owning 60% of the authorized fund.
      The factory will be able to turn out 18 Flirt and Kiss type trains per year initially. Later on the capacity will reach 30 Flirt and Kiss trains, 100 trams, and 40 sets of welded structures. About €50 million will be invested to implement the project.
