Belarusian Parliament ratifies protocol of Uzbekistan’ accession to CIS FTA

          The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified the protocol of Uzbekistan’s accession to the CIS Free Trade Agreement. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich presented the bill to the Council of the Republic and explained that the special terms for Uzbekistan’s accession to the CIS free trade zone relate to the exemptions from the provisions of the agreement that have references to the WTO rules, the application of the rules of origin of goods of 1993, and the transition period for the settlement of disputes through bilateral negotiations and consultations.
        Besides, the Council of the Republic also ratified an agreement on the procedure of investigation of workplace accidents encountered by citizens of one Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member state on the territory of another EEU member state. MPs ratified the agreement on the prevention and suppression of wildfires in the frontier regions of the CIS member states.
