Basketball club Horizont Minsk celebrate second victory in row in Women’s EuroCup

        Women’s basketball clubs from Belarus played last matches of the first round of the EuroCup group stage in Turkey. Horizont Minsk came out victors in the away tie against Turkey’s Tarsus Belediye Spor Kulubu 75:70.
       The Group C tournament table is as follows: Horizont Minsk 5 points, Tarsus Belediye Spor Kulubu 5 points, Dynamo - GUVD 5 points and ACS Sepsi-Sic 3 points. On 28 November Horizont Minsk will host Dynamo - GUVD, after which they head for Romania to take on ACS Sepsi-Sic on 5 December and finish the group stage at home against Tarsus Belediye Spor Kulubu on 12 December.
        Two other Belarusian teams lost their games. Champions of Belarus, SBK Olympia Grodno, were hammered by Istanbul Universitesi BGD S.K. 49:78 (9:29, 14:18, 12:13, 14:18). Olympia’s top-scorer was Julie Seabrook who earned nine points. In the previous two matches in Group D Alexander Shimyakov’s charges also lost to Dynamo Moscow 54:84 and another Russian basketball club Spartak M.O. Noginsk 58:75.
       Winners of the seven groups along with runners-up will enter the last 32 round of the EuroCup, the second most important basketball tournament in Europe.
