Chagall Museum, Rothko Art Center sign cooperation agreement

         An agreement on cooperation and joint activities was signed between the Marc Chagall Museum of Vitebsk and Mark Rothko Art Center of Daugavpils.
         Daugavpils and Vitebsk, Belarus and Latvia enjoy close relations, said Alexei Burunov, the head of the Mark Rothko Art Center. The agreement gives the opportunity to build even stronger ties in the cultural sector, as it opens wide field for joint activities. “Work on the preparation of such projects is already in progress. It began even before the signing of this document," said Alexei Burunov.
        The signing ceremony took place during the Days of Latvia in Vitebsk. The program includes a roundtable to discuss the opportunities to promote tourist routes Vitebsk-Daugavpils, presentation of the exhibition "Peteris Martinsons. Daugavpils” and the concert “Tango over the city” featuring the best jazz artists of Latvia including the Daugavpils Accordion Orchestra. The musicians will perform the best works of composer Oscar Strok, a recognized king of tango.
