Belarusian Finance Ministry sells $67m worth of forex bonds

         The Belarusian Finance Ministry has sold long-term foreign-currency government bonds to the tune of $67 million as the 120th issue. As many as 6,700 forex-nominated bonds were sold, with the face value of $10,000 each. 5 February 2016 is the end of circulation of these securities. The previous issue amounted to $30 million. It was sold in late October.
         Speaking about the refinancing of the public debt by the end of the year, Belarusian Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Yermolovich remarked on 14 October that they were going to accomplish the goal by floating extra forex bonds of the Finance Ministry on the home market. The Ministry believes the move can raise $200-270 million from corporations till the end of the year. Now the demand is stable and is estimated at roughly $100 million per month, noted the Deputy Finance Minister. Work is in progress in Belarus to raise the appeal of government forex bonds.
