CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier are satisfied with the cooperation between the two organizations. The two officials met in Moscow to discuss efforts to combat cross-border threats, terrorism and extremism, maintain stability and security, prevent and resolve conflicts in Eurasia. Top on the agenda was the situation in Afghanistan and implications of the forthcoming withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Force from the country in 2014. The participants of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the results of the bilateral cooperation. “We are really glad to maintain regular contacts. My colleagues and I are happy that the information exchange between the organizations allows us to focus on the security matters,” Nikolai Bordyuzha said. Lamberto Zannier stated that the CSTO and the OSCE complement each other. “We have to deal with the same challenges. We have recently exchanged written messages on security. I view this meeting as an opportunity to continue the dialogue,” the OSCE Secretary General noted.
