Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed Belarus’ interest in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan

        Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed Belarus’ interest in developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in all areas. The Belarusian head of state made this statement as he met with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
       On the eve of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei held talks in Ashgabat with his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov. As the Belarusian Minister said, bilateral relations are characterized by a high level of confidence, while a mutually respectful dialogue and regular contacts between the Presidents are the key to the strength and further development of Belarusian-Turkmen cooperation:
        “We have no problems in politics or economy. There are certain insignificant issues that we have to remove from our bilateral agenda. That is why we are ready to discuss the whole range of our relations and come up with solutions that will promote further development of cooperation between our countries in politics, trade, humanitarian and other spheres.”


        Rashid Meredov, in turn, emphasized personal relations’ contribution to development of bilateral relations:
         “Definitely, our bilateral relations are marked by a high degree of trust. We enjoy a very friendly and sincere political dialogue between the leaders of the two nations. I believe that confidence-based personal relations and a constructive dialogue between the two Presidents is the main factor contributing to the better relations between our countries.”
