The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) signed a memorandum of cooperation in technical regulation and standardization. The memorandum of understanding was signed by EEC Minister of Technical Regulation Valery Koreshkov and IEC General Secretary Frans Vreeswijk in Moscow. “The parties will cooperate in technical regulations and standardization with an aim of enhancing competitive ability and safety of electrical products, reducing the number of technical barriers and excessive administrative control in trade in electrotechnical goods,”
Valery Koreshkov said. The parties will cooperate through the exchange of information, including sci-tech and technological data, experience in the field of requirements for electrotechncial products, consultations in technical regulations, participation of EEC experts in the work of technical committees of the International Electrotechnical Commission.
