The Belarusian Economy Ministry hosted the third round of technical dialogue for economic and financial affairs with the European Commission. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Golukhov and Peter Bekx, director for international economic and financial relations, global governance at the European Commission. On behalf of Belarus the meeting was attended by representatives of the Economy Ministry, Finance Ministry, Foreign Ministry and the National Bank. "During the talks, the parties analyzed the trends in the EU economy, the current macro-economic situation in Belarus and discussed plans for 2014. The meeting also touched upon the budgetary situation in the Eurozone and the debt crisis, fiscal policies and debt of Belarus, monetary policy and financial sector policy, the state of affairs in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space,” the Economy Ministry said.
The meeting was held as part of the plan of joint actions of the Government and the National Bank to reform the Belarusian economy and strengthen its competitiveness.
