Belarus-Israel commission on economic cooperation to convene in Jerusalem in February 2014

      A meeting of the Belarusian-Israeli intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held in Jerusalem in mid-February 2014, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus Yosef Shagal told media. He noted that one of the issues that will be in the focus of the commission is the establishment of the joint agro-industrial park. The project was presented by Belarus during the visit of Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Yair Shamir to Belarus on 8-10 October. The Israeli side got interested in the project. However, many aspects of its implementation are so far unclear. According to the Ambassador, Belarusian specialists may soon visit Israel to make a full-scale presentation of the project with the economic estimates. The project will be examined in detail during the  session of the Belarusian-Israeli joint intergovernmental commission.
      The project to build the Belarusian-Israeli agro-industrial park is being developed by the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus on instructions of the Government and is seen as one of the ways of boosting cooperation with Israel.
