Belarus, Iran agree on permit-free system of road transportation

Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko met with Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash of Iran within the framework of the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Iran, BelTA learned from the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry.

The parties signed a protocol to establish a permit-free procedure for international road freight transport. "I hope that both parties will be able to ratify the protocol soon to give road carriers an opportunity to transport goods without permits as soon as 2023," Aleksei Avramenko said.

On 26 March of this year, Iran’s Mahan Air is launching a regular flight from Tehran to Minsk. The flight will be operated twice a week.

Belarus is also interested in the development of transportation via the International North-South Transport Corridor.
