Belarus and Malta are discussing ways to expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation. The cooperation matters are top on the agenda of the visit of Belarusian Ambassador to Italy and Malta Yevgeny Shestakov to Valetta. The Belarusian ambassador was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta George Vella, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta Angelo Farrugia, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs – head of the Maltese delegation to the OSCE PA Chris Fearne, parliament member representing the Nationalist Party Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici. During the visit to the headquarters of the government and the parliament of Malta Yevgeny Shestakov met with Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat. The parties discussed the entire range of the bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on joint efforts to stimulate mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Belarus and Malta. “Representatives of the ruling Labor Party and the opposition Nationalist Party assured the Belarusian diplomat that they are willing to intensify cooperation with Belarus, including in legislative matters,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry informed.
