Belarus’ NOC grateful to Olympic Council of Asia for support

The National Olympic Committee of Belarus is grateful to the Olympic Council of Asia for the support and offer to compete under the auspices of the organization in the 2024 Paris Games qualifying tournaments, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

On 26 January, the Olympic Council of Asia invited Belarus and Russia to take part in the Asian Games.
The National Olympic Committee also welcomes the efforts of the International Olympic Committee to resolve the situation with the admission of the Belarusian athletes to the international competitions. The Belarusian NOC considers the statement of the IOC Executive Board published on 25 January as a way to find a compromise and is waiting for specific decisions for further discussions.

At the same time, the NOC of Belarus supports the abolition of all restrictions not only in relation to the Belarusian and Russian athletes to comply with the principle of equality and non-discrimination, but in general, to the Republic of Belarus.
