Belarusian Railways’ container transportation of Belarusian products to China 6.5 times up in 2022

In 2022 the volume of Belarusian exports transported by container trains of Belarusian Railways to China increased by 6.5 times, the Belarusian Railways press service told BelTA.

Through the year Belarusian Railways organized the departure of 988 container trains carrying Belarusian exports from Belarus to China. According to preliminary data, the volume of exports transported by the container trains was close to 120,000 containers in twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), 6.5 times up from 2021. Products of woodworking enterprises, fertilizers, and dairy products represented the bulk of the shipments.

The development of export shipments and the promotion of Belarusian products onto foreign markets represent the most important areas of work for Belarusian Railways. Thanks to effective interaction with all the participants of the transport services market and thanks to business contacts Belarusian products can be delivered to China within two weeks. The delivery time includes product shipment to a railway station and consequent shipment by road to any part of China, including the last-mile services.

In 2023 Belarusian Railways will pay close attention to further development of export shipment of Belarusian products to foreign markets, primarily to China and Eurasian Economic Union countries.
