The Council of Ministers of Belarus has adopted a draft government resolution on additional measures to contain and prevent the spread of African swine fever and other animal diseases. The document was discussed by the Presidium of the Council of Ministers.
Although the African swine fever situation is regularly discussed by a special national-level staff, at routine meetings and official sessions of the government, the head of state pointed out the need to take additional measures at the government session held to discuss the epidemic situation in the pig-breeding industry and measures to fight the viral swine disease.
According to Vice Premier Mikhail Rusyi, taking into account instructions of the head of state and the government several decisions have been made. In particular, in association with interested agencies a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers has been worked out to specify additional measures to eradicate and prevent the spread of African swine disease and other dangerous animal diseases. The document clearly stipulates the degree of responsibility and coordination of efforts at all levels.
