Golovchenko announces changes in price regulation

Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko announced changes in price regulation as he spoke with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.

“Throughout the past week, even being in Saint Petersburg, I took part in the discussion of the further approaches to price regulation. I set a task to arrive at a decision by the middle of next week. There will be no dramatic changes, we will continue regulating a broad range of staple products: foodstuffs and medicines. We will probably give manufacturers and retailers a greater leeway. They will have to distribute the expenses among themselves. Maybe we will allow producers to raise prices a bit, and at the same time retailers will have to change their trade margin,” Roman Golovchenko said.

There are plans to introduce certain regulatory instruments to curb prices for sensitive goods such as hygiene products, household chemicals, children’s shoes and clothing.
