Belarus accounts for 50% of foreign trade of Russia's Bryansk Oblast

The share of Belarusian companies in foreign trade of Russia's Bryansk Oblast has increased to 50%, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belgospischeprom food industry concern.

"Belarus has become the main foreign economic partner of Bryansk Oblast in H1 2021. The share of Belarusian companies in the region's foreign trade rose from 33.2% to 50% year-on-year,” the press service noted. “The foreign trade between Belarus and Russia's Bryansk Oblast totaled $418.1 million in January-August (up by 2.2% year-on-year)."

Bryansk Oblast is one of the ten major regional partners of Belarus. It is home to the Russian-Belarusian joint companies Bryanskselmash and AMKODOR-Bryansk and more than 600 small and medium-sized businesses founded by Belarusian entrepreneurs.

Belarusian processing enterprises are regular participants of international universal exhibitions organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bryansk Oblast and also the annual Svenskaya Fair and the agro expo.

In turn, Bryansk Oblast actively participates in conferences, presentations, exhibitions and other events held in Belarus. In particular, the Export Support Center will put together a collective stand of Bryansk entrepreneurs at the Prodexpo exhibition, which will be held in Minsk on 9-13 November.

The press service recalled that in order to implement the agreement on trade, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between the Belarusian government and the Bryansk regional administration, the working group holds regular meetings with the participation of the Belgospischeprom concern (responsible for the development of trade and economic relations with the region on behalf of the Belarusian government), the Embassy of Belarus in Russia, ministries and departments and also the companies interested in cooperation with Bryansk partners. The expert group of Bryansk Oblast includes representatives of regional executive bodies in charge of the development of economic cooperation with Belarus.
