CIS ministerial consultations discuss emerging threats

 

Moscow has hosted the CIS ministerial consultations to discuss response to new challenges and threats, as well as possible coordination of approaches of the CIS member states in the United Nations and other international organizations, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

 

The participants of the consultations reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying cooperation in countering modern challenges and threats, primarily at international platforms. They emphasized the importance of collective effort to identify risks facing national systems in charge of combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

 

High on the agenda was drug production and trafficking. The participants of the consultations deem it necessary to consolidate efforts to fight drug production and trafficking within the framework of the UN, the CIS, the CSTO, the SCO, the CARICC, the Paris Pact Initiative, as well as in bilateral formats.
