First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Federation Council to visit Belarus

       A Russian parliamentary delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Federation Council Alexander Torshin is set to visit Belarus on 15 February, we learnt from Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Anatoly Rubinov.
The Belarusian Speaker noted that a new stage of interparliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Russia will be launched in 2013. “It will focus on interregional ties between our countries,” Anatoly Rubinov said. 
        The Council of the Republic will host a session of the interparliamentary commission that will adopt a plan of work in 2013. It envisages regular interregional forums where Belarusian and Russian regions will be able to demonstrate their capacities, to reconcile plans and to find new ways to boost cooperation.
“Belarus’ President emphasized the importance of interregional cooperation on numerous occasions. These contacts produce tangible results in economy, as well as social and cultural fields,” Anatoly Rubinov underlined.
