Gomel to host international conference on nuclear medicine

        The international conference on nuclear medicine will be held at the National Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology in Gomel. Taking part in the forum will be over 200 scientists from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries. They will discuss achievements and issues in nuclear medicine and clinical practice, nuclear epidemiology, radiation biology, radiation ecology, radiation dose estimation and nuclear safety.
       The conference is timed to the 10th anniversary of the National Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology that is now the major provider of specialized medical services to people affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident.
       The center provides diagnostics, treatment, prevention and forecast of diseases caused by exposure to unfavorable environment. The center also conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of nuclear medicine and human ecology.
