The date for the presidential election in Belarus will be announced in early August, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshina told media.
The technical preparation for the elections is underway at the Central Election Commission. “I can say we have entered the final stage. All the documents are ready and we have the necessary budget resources,” Lidia Yermoshina said. At present we are talking about approximately $10 million for the first round of voting.
“The main preparations will start as soon as the House of Representatives sets the election date. It will be in early August,” the CEC head said. Foreign observers will be invited once the election date is set, Lidia Yermoshina added.
