New circus show to highlight Belarus’ cultural identity


      Belarus' rich culture will be the major focus of the Belarusian State Circus new show, A Magic Dream on a Winter Night, Art Director of the Belarusian State Circus and the script writer Vytautas Grigaliunas told media, BelTA has learned.
      In his words, the idea for the Belarusian program appeared some six months ago. It is a story of dreams, the mythology of Belarus. Nine new acts have been developed for the show. More than 100 new costumes have been made and thirteen music compositions have been written for the new show of the Belarusian State Circus. The show will feature over 50 circus artists, more than 30 trained animals. According to Belarusian State Circus stage director Alla Nikolayeva-Aliyeva, the new program will include many debut acts performed by young artists.
      The new circus show will run from 17 December 2014 through 14 January 2015. It is expected that the circus program will go on a tour. According to circus director Vladimir Shaban, the new Belarusian project has aroused big interest from Baku and Kiev. The circus head expressed hope that the Belarusian circus performers would be able to show off their skills in Moscow, too.
In late January 2015 the Belarusian State Circus will kick off its new show of giant fountains.
