Yevgeny Tsurkin in 100m butterfly final in Qatar

      Belarus’ Yevgeny Tsurkin reached the 100m butterfly final at the ongoing 2014 World Short Course Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Following the two semifinal heats the Belarusian swimmer finished 7th clocking a new national record of 50.14 seconds.
      Two more representatives of Belarus failed to go through the first qualifying round. Viktor Staselovich finished the 100m backstroke event in 52:97 (29th). Svetlana Khokhlova was 36th in the 50m breaststroke heat clocking 31.71 seconds.
        Yevgeny Tsurkin will compete in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events. Viktor Staselovich will appear in the 50m backstroke heat, while Svetlana Khokhlova will show her best in the 50m freestyle and 100m medley action.
The competitions in Doha will be over on 7 December.
