Parliament ratifies Belarusian-Cambodian agreements

The House of Representatives of Belarus ratified a number of Belarusian-Cambodian agreements.

The Belarusian MPs adopted draft laws on the ratification of agreements with Cambodia on military and technical, trade and economic cooperation, mutual protection of investments, visa-free trips for holders of diplomatic and service (official) passports.

The document on military and technical cooperation will promote the supplies of Belarusian military products to Cambodia. As for the trade and economic cooperation, the trade between the two countries totaled $6.3 million last year (98% to 2012). The main item of Belarusian exports to Cambodia is tractors, which are also supplied there via third countries: Lithuania, Malaysia and Vietnam. In 2014 a joint tractor making plant Belarus Mekong LLC was opened in Cambodia. The company will help increase the country’s presence on the Cambodian market and supply products to the neighboring states.

On 4 November the House of Representatives passed a bill on the ratification of the agreement with the People’s Republic of China on the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation in technical and economic assistance projects.
