Working together with the Polish side, the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry has developed a draft agreement on the maintenance of roads and bridges at border crossings, BelTA quotes Yevgeny Rokalo, Head of the Central Office for Automobile Roads of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry. “We are working on the draft agreement that will clearly delineate responsibility zones to stipulate which bridge belongs to the Polish side and which bridge belongs to us. The draft agreement is ready. A number of joint meetings will be held, during which the draft agreement will be discussed,” he explained. The agreement is supposed to be signed next year. The agreement will apply to road and bridge constructions located between the two borders. For instance, the state border goes across the bridge at the border crossing Brest. The structure has value and requires constant attention of road construction and maintenance services. However, Belarusian road workers cannot always reach the place due to the need to pass a number of procedures. The draft agreement is meant to address the problem.
