The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) invites Belarus to cooperate for the sake of working out the state policy on healthcare. The invitation was mentioned by UNFPA Country Director for Belarus Nuzhat Ehsan at the meeting with members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
“We would like to draw attention to prospects of cooperation in developing your country’s state policy on healthcare,” noted Nuzhat Ehsan. In her words, the UNFPA is now working to develop a new country program for Belarus for 2016-2020. “We cooperate with the Healthcare Ministry but our interaction could be much larger. It is very important for us to promote new initiatives. Among other things we are enthusiastic about the intention to promote the institution of general practitioners in Belarus. We like the intention to provide emergency medical service at the primary level while focusing on prevention healthcare,” she said.
In turn, Alexander Tsetsokho, Chairman of the Healthcare, Physical Training, Family and Youth Policy Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, drew attention to Belarus’ eagerness to resolve problems in the organization and provision of services in the area of reproductive and sexual health in compliance with the UNFPA’s new program for 2016-2020.
