U.S. welcomes Belarus’ consent to host Ukraine peace talks

      The United States welcomes Belarus’ consent to host the meeting to discuss the Ukraine peace deal, Thomas O. Melia, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor of the United States said answering a question of a BelTA journalist. Thomas O. Melia visited Belarus as part of the U.S. inter-ministerial delegation.
     At a briefing arranged by the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Charge d' Affaires in Belarus Scott Rauland stated that during the meeting at the Belarus Defense Ministry headquarters the U.S. delegation said it appreciates Belarus’ participation in international treaties like the Treaty on Open Skies and the Partnership for Peace.
