Belarus and Hungary have signed an intergovernmental cooperation program in education for 2014-2016, we learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary.
The document was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Alexander Khainovsky and Hungarian State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.
“The program will facilitate various forms of cooperation in education and will boost direct contacts between higher learning institutions, scientific and research centers of the two states,” the embassy informed. The document provides for the exchange of undergraduate and post-graduate students. Each year 50 Belarusian citizens will get an opportunity to study at Hungarian university in English or in Hungarian.
The disciplines they will be able to choose from include agriculture, environmental management, mathematics, engineering and technologies, bio-technologies, international relations and others. Hungarian students who will study in Belarus are to receive scholarships. The first student exchange program will be launched at the beginning of 2015.
