Belarusian student wins international contest for young readers

      Student of Zhodino school No. 8 Viktor Shiman won the 2nd International Competition for Young Readers Living Classics which took place in Moscow, BelTA learned from the Minsk Oblast Institute of Education Development.
      Partaking in the super final of the competition were 22 students, including Viktor Shiman. He eventually won the international contest for young readers. The Belarusian student read extracts from the story Ivan by Vladimir Bogomolov.
      The large-scale event brought together talented students from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, the USA, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Serbia, Slovenia, China and other states.
Belarus’ team at the international competition included winners of the national tournament which took place in Minsk on 14 April. They are Viktor Shiman from Zhodino, Minsk Oblast, Ilya Kosmach from Gantsevichi, Brest Oblast, and Elina Velesik from Volkovysk, Grodno Oblast.
