Belarusians among scoring leaders after IIHF WM Day 4

     Forwards of the Belarusian national ice hockey team Sergei Kostitsyn and Mikhail Grabovski that delivered high results in Belarus’ 4-3 win against Switzerland on 12 May have made it into the list of the 2014 IIHF World Championship scoring leaders, BelTA has learned.
      The two Belarusians have so far earned four points each: Sergei Kostitsyn has 3 goals and 1 assist, while Mikhail Grabovski has scored 1 goal and 3 assists. Team Russia captain Alexander Ovechkin sits atop of the list with six points (3+3) and is followed by his linemate Viktor Tikhonov with five points (3+2).
Belarus will next face Finland on 15 May.
The preliminary-round standings are as follows:
Group A: Canada - 7 points (GP - 3, GF:GA 10-7), Norway - 6 (2; 7-3), Sweden - 5 (2; 7-3), France - 5 (3; 9-7), Italy - 3 (2; 2-4), Czech Republic – 3 (3; 9-10) Slovakia - 1 (3; 6-12), Denmark – 0 (2; 3-7).
Group B: Russia - 9 (3; 15-3), the United States - 6 (3; 10-9), Belarus - 6 (3; 9-10), Germany - 5 (2; 5-3), Latvia - 3 (2; 5-5), Kazakhstan - 1 (2; 2-6), Finland - 0 (2; 4-7), Switzerland - 0 (3; 5-12).
Tuesday, 13 May, will feature Italy vs. Denmark, Norway vs. Sweden, Germany vs. Finland and Kazakhstan vs. Latvia.
